Research projects
by efs

From energy efficiencies in software to digital twins for urban life – learn more about our research projects.

Innovative research projects for a sustainable future

Our Research Projects by efs section brings together strong partners from development, IT, and software. Together, we shape forward-looking solutions funded by state and federal authorities. Let our innovative approaches inspire you – because we are “on a mission to the future.”

SAVeNOW

SAVeNoW – a digital twin of Ingolstadt for safe and sustainable mobility, funded by the Federal Ministry of Transport

Together with partners such as the Fraunhofer Institute, Audi, and ASAP, we are researching the creation and operation of a digital twin for urban traffic using Ingolstadt as an example. In virtual simulations, we analyze individual traffic situations, individual driving behavior, or entirely new mobility concepts and examine how changes affect key traffic indicators.

TWINSPACE

TwinSpace as a revolution: Green coding and digital twins unify economy and ecology, funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs

Together with the University of Rostock, the University of Augsburg, and the University of Lübeck, as well as partners like CARIAD, we are researching the optimization of non-functional properties of software, which are often neglected during development. The project aims to optimize software for embedded systems in terms of resource requirements (e.g., CPU, GPU) by mapping the application specification onto a twin space.
